Giants pitcher Sergio Romo mocks Dodgers’ payroll in Mercedes-Benz ad

Sergio Romo appears in a local ad for Mercedes-Benz which mocks the Los Angeles Dodgers and their massive payroll. Specifically, Romo discusses his new vehicle while his father, Frank Romo, gives him grief about playing for the Giants instead of the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers currently have a payroll of $229 million. That staggering figure has been debated for months, with some mocking their spending and others defending all of the massive contracts. Regardless of whether or not you think their budget is justified, it’s pretty awesome seeing a player appear in an ad mocking his rival’s lavish spending.
