TiVo's new Brand Ambassador is Tim Tebow

Who says you have to be a successful athlete on the field to receive endorsement deals? Tim Tebow - yes, the same Tebow that's constantly discussed on ESPN despite hardly ever seeing playing time - has already released his first commercial for TiVo explaining his relationship with the brand. There's just too much here to point and laugh at. 

First, it's appropriate that we found out about this ad through ESPN. It's shocking they'd cover a Tebow story, right? Next, it's tough not to cringe when Tebow opens by saying you might know him from playing football. Well Tim, we know you but not because of your time on the field. The bench knows you better than any of us at this point. Tebow then explains how TiVo is like a "magic box". We'll let you make your own joke there. He ends by cracking a joke that he can't help laugh awkwardly at. 

At the very least, TiVo is creative by having Tebow market their product. He's a familiar name, especially to those of us that watch ESPN, and his name sounds a whole lot like the company's name. Still, it's a bit odd seeing a player that has really done nothing on the field sign a major endorsement contract.
