Pepsi debuts campaign for the 2014 World Cup

Pepsi has unveiled their ad campaign for the 2014 World Cup. In a spot titled “Now is What You Make It”, Pepsi showcases some of the game’s best players during an interesting commercial which offers a fresh take on a familiar David Bowie song.

Watch as Robin van Persie, David Luiz, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Agüero, Jack Wilshere and Leo Messi enjoy the Janelle Monáe spin on “Heroes.”

Catchy song. It’s worth noting that Pepsi joins Nike in deciding to ignore any actual action on the pitch in favor of highlighting the culture of the game in Rio.

It’s also worth noting that this ad reveals Messi’s ego may be bigger than we all believed, as seen by the soccer star eagerly reading a newspaper story complimenting his magic on the field.
